Rustic Weaving Tutorial

Published by moonmaiden at 5:00 pm under Arts & Crafts Edit This

I have done some weaving in my life but not lately. So I was thrilled to be re-inspired by this new tutorial on turning a board and some screws into a simple rustic loom.

She is using silk scraps but I will have to use what’s on hand, like cotton, repurposed denim, t-shirt jersey, and so on. I think the screws are a good idea because they won’t pull out like nails might under pressure. This would be a good project for homeschoolers, or shut-ins or people who are snowed in.

I think the way Bobbi fastens 2 strips together is great. And if you like to dye things, this will give you a chance to show off your special fabrics. You could dye them before or after you weave the item. I probably won’t have time to try this for another month at least, but if I do I’ll let you know how it goes.
