Rainy Day Crafts

Published by moonmaiden at 10:44 am under Arts & Crafts Edit This

MeI woke up to a rainy day in S. CA. On rainy days I feel like a little witch in my cottage tending to hearth and home.

On today’s menu I hope to finish a project on my Knifty Knitter loom so I can make a tutorial on how to remove it from the loom. My readers have been chomping at the bit for details on how to remove the project without dropping any stitches.

Then I have a sweater I’ve been knitting the more conventional way and just have one sleeve yet to go. I’m very excited because though I’ve started maybe 8 sweaters in my life, including a complicated monstrosity by Kaffe Fassett, I’ve yet to finish a single one. So I got the simplest pattern I could find and I sure hope to finish it this time around and wear it.

I also have three counted cross stitch embroidery projects going. One is a Christmas stocking I’m making from a kit for my grandson. Well, I started it too late for it to be for his first Christmas, so hopefully it will be for his 2nd one. Then I have one cross stitch that has a quote from the movie Twilight. “Your mood swings are giving me whiplash.” The third one I just started and will be about hypnosis.

And I got 10 new Butterick patterns, most of Edwardian styles for my steampunk neovictorian costume.

And now that I’ve heard about the Jareth Ball in the Los Angeles area I definitely want to make a costume for that out of the bolt of green silk fabric sitting in my bedroom. Some sort of ball gown. The Jareth Ball is already sold out for July 2009 but my friend said there might be one in Sept. I hope I can talk my daughter and some friends into going.

So, I’m off to do crafts. Hope you are too.
